Microsoft Dataverse provides the data platform that supports many Power Platform solutions.

Yes. Power Platform provides connectors for services such as SAP, Salesforce and Gmail. When a prebuilt connector is not available, custom connectors can connect Power Platform to services through REST or SOAP APIs. Microsoft currently lists more than 1,000 connectors across Power Apps, Power Automate and Copilot Studio.

Dataverse is where Power Platform stores your data. It gives every table one definition and one set of role-based permissions, so an app, a flow and an agent all read the same record with the same access rules. Without it, each app ends up with its own copy of the data and the copies drift apart.
