About the speakers
Sir Edward Troup
Former Executive Chair and First Permanent Secretary of the UK HM Revenue and Customs
Sir Edward Troup was a senior civil servant at HM Treasury and then HMRC. He is a former tax partner at Simmons & Simmons and he was a special adviser to Chancellor Kenneth Clarke from 1995 to 1997. He rejoined HM Treasury in 2004, and became executive chair and first permanent secretary of HMRC from April 2016 until December 2017. He was knighted in the 2018 new year honours for public service to taxpayers and the tax system.
Janek Rozov
Deputy Director General for Development of Estonian Tax and Customs Board
From August 2019 to June 2023, Janek Rozov was the Strategy Director of the IT and Development Centre of the Ministry of the Interior of Estonia (SMIT). He has worked as the Head of Information Society Services Development Department (from 2012 to 2019) and adviser (from 2011 to 2012) at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications.
