Innovation in the city of Wuppertal, Germany
We are proud to partner with the developers of Bliggit — a new platform and app bringing personalized local news, services and events of the city of Wuppertal to its citizens and friends.
“Finding solutions for questions of the everyday life easily, quickly and digitally in one app. Discovering the diversity of our city without a keyboard, whenever and wherever the people want — that is the goal of Bliggit,” says Holger Hammes, one of the two managing directors of the startup.
The idea and concept of the platform and app were developed in Wuppertal. Stadtsparkasse Wuppertal and WSW Wuppertaler Stadtwerke initiated the project in 2018. A lot of inspiration for this initiative came from Estonia, where people have been able to handle most of their everyday tasks digitally for years. Nortal has been a leading catalyst in the digital transformation of Estonia — and they provided digitalization experience and technical expertise for the conception and technical implementation of Bliggit.
“We are proud to be a part of this project and help to launch this platform for Wuppertal. Designed to make life seamless for the citizens through better access to information and services. Especially at this critical time, this can serve as an important new digital infrastructure for Wuppertal,” adds Taavi Einaste, CEO of Nortal Germany.
“We had planned to launch in autumn, but due to the corona crisis, we will provide the partner portal and the app in beta version at the end of May,” says the other managing director René Münch. The beta stage allows developers to receive early feedback from users. The community input is beneficial for further improving the platform making it more useful in everyday life.
