Individual identities are based on unique set of characteristics by which a person is known. In the process of authenticating an individual, you validate the same credentials received in real time against registered dataset. Required datasets might include a cryptographic token (such as smartcard) with corresponding activation codes (PIN) and/or biometrics. This creates the eID Authentication.
Authentication of a national eID is usually a 2-phase process. First, a phsyical entity held by the person (such as an ID-card). Second, a password-like code known by the person (such as a PIN-code). Utilizing information on state issued eID will provide all necessary confirmation of a persons identity.
The purpose of an authentication solution with national eID is to develop a sustainable business and operating platform that supports delivery of a live commercial and public service. This solution creates a base that both private and public sector services can rely on.
Nortal has long-term experience in building and managing national digital authentication models. Our approach will provide a data privacy-oriented and reliable solution that will guarantee the required level of security and improvement of operational efficiency for both private and public entities.
Modern users prefer to use single sign-on to access different online services without a need to re-enter credentials every time they want to use new service.
The reliance on traditional modes of proving authentication is becoming a significant barrier to innovation as preferences of modern customers is changing quickly.
Single Sign On (SSO) enables an ideal situation where a person must only sign-in once. The confirmed electronic identification will then follow through to new services from one website to another.
As personal data is sensitive; the transformation of it requires an appropriate security level to ensure data integrity and confidentiality on its way through the network.
Authentication mechanism relies on common identity management. In addition, service providers must apply standardized access management systems that will allow communication across various operating systems, applications, and web-based SSO products.
Nortal will help to implement required new approach to systems integration and interoperability.
